What should I do with dirty laundry?
Fresh bed linen and towels are provided daily, but you can request additional linen anytime. You’ll change your own bed linen and place the used items in soluble laundry bags, which staff will collect from your room. While we don’t offer a laundry service for personal clothing, we provide soluble laundry bags for you to take dirty clothes home. We’ll also give you instructions on how to launder them at home.
Please note that there are no daily cleaners available. We kindly ask that all volunteers help keep the room tidy. Your cooperation in keeping the area clean is greatly appreciated.
What should I do if the fire alarm goes off?
If the fire alarm sounds, our staff will guide you on what to do. When you first arrive, we’ll demonstrate how to put on gowns, masks, and shoe covers in case we need to evacuate the building.
How do I use the phone?
Tabletop phones are available for incoming internal calls from our staff. Participants cannot make outgoing calls using these phones. For contacting staff, use the handheld receiver on the nurse call bell by your bedside.
How can I adjust my bed?
Diagrams showing how to use the bed’s functions are attached to the bed’s handheld control. Our staff will show you how to adjust your bed when you first arrive, and you can always ask for assistance if needed.
Can I replace my bedding and towels?
Bed linen and towel changes are offered daily. If you need more linen or towels at any time, just ask!
Can I request an eye mask or bathrobe during my stay?
Yes, both eye masks and bathrobes are available upon request. Simply let a member of the team know during your stay, and they’ll be happy to provide them for you.
What should I do if I have a facilities issue?
If you encounter any problems with your room (e.g., lack of toilet paper, shower gel, Wi-Fi issues), please inform a member of staff immediately. Although we aim to respond quickly, please be patient as this is a clinical research facility and staff may be attending to other tasks. Please remain in your room until assistance arrives.
